Local Weather

Lake Chapala has interesting weather to say the least. Several months out of the year, it's pretty well the same with only a degree or two variant. BUT, during other times of the year, namely the rainy or hurricane seasons, the weather can vary greatly and suddenly.

Chapalaweather.net is a locally operated weather station located on the north shore. Steve and Max "the weather cat" have been manning it for quite a while. The weather station is located in Riberas on the North Shore, and the stats above take you to his weather station page. (opens in new window)

Nadine and Henry have also proudly contributed their weathercam. They are located in Chapala, and the view includes Mt. Garcia on the south shore.

 National Weather

Mexico hosts one of the widest ranges of climates of the world, from arid deserts to lush tropical ranges, involving vast elevations and valleys. With elevation and ocean currents influencing weather and climate, weather can be completely different in just a small distnace.

Weather patterns are also just as diverse for each climate zone, as you can tell from this live doppler image.

Storm Watch

Mexico's coasts sure do get their storms, and even though we are significantly inland, those coastal storms can greatly influence our weather patterns. The following live images are taken from "The National Hurricane Center" located out of Miami, USA.
